What is ACM?

Established in 1947, ACM is the world’s largest educational and scientific computing society, which provides a platform for students and professionals from all over the globe to collaborate and to share resources. The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) is an international learned society for computing. It is a non-profit professional membership group with the number of members exceeding 100,000 as of 2011. Its headquarters are based in the techno-hub New York City. ACM is organized into over 171 local chapters with over 500 college and university chapters. The first student chapter was founded in 1961 at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The goal of ACM is to delivers resources that advance computing as a science and a profession. IEM Student Chapter enables us to familiarize the people of IEM with all the latest tech trends. IEM ACM Chapter works as a non-profit with students from various professional pursuits as its organizing members. We aim to provide an educational platform for our members to advance the field of Computing. We conduct workshops, seminars and various events to engage our members and provide a nourishing platform.
